Here are a few sketch arrangements I was playing around with that eventually led to the chiptune arrangements in Rise of The Wolf (accumulator.audio/album/rise-of-the-wolf
). You can see this sort of started with a Phantom-of-The-Opera-stage-band-Hiromi-wannabe vibe and it's funny to me how much of that gets lost when abstracting down to chiptunes. That's part of what I love the most about chiptunes.
I think the organ pieces actually came out better than I expected. These were actually single-take improvisations that stuck–many more were made and immediately annihilated in horror. As for the piano, well, I have no idea what I'm doing, of course. Still, I hope you enjoy!
I'm donating all of my share of proceeds from this album and matching it 100% to the ACLU in concert with Bandcamp's support described here: daily.bandcamp.com/2017/01/31/bandcamp-human-rights/
. Thanks for supporting human rights.
If you'd like a shoutout, please include your Twitter handle when buying!
You can check out the original chiptune release Rise of the Wolf here: accumulator.audio/album/rise-of-the-wolf
. I'll also be matching proceeds from this album for all sales on Friday, February 3, 2017.
For yet another bonus, Sage is offering to send thank you sketches to all ROTW purchases, regardless of whether you got the art booklet or not. How cool is that!
